Island House - Canada

Island buffs acknowledge Canada as the place with more private islands for sale than any other country in the world. Unlike many island regions around the globe, foreign ownership is always secure and Canada's political climate remains stable at all times. Further, Canada has almost no restrictions on foreigners purchasing property and the process is relatively simple. While the procedure for buying an island in Canada is fairly straight forward, it is always advisable to retain the services of a qualified lawyer and a knowledgeable real estate agent or broker.

Canada's islands cost a fraction of properties located in the U.S. and provide ideal opportunities for owners seeking friendly locals, efficient transportation and stable infrastructure. Canada's hot summers and temperate spring and fall facilitate every variety of water sport, especially fishing and sailing. Canada's coasts and lakes are dotted with accommodating yacht clubs and marinas. Land lubbers can enjoy Canada's spectacular hiking, abundant wildlife, or numerous golf courses.

Canada has an East and West coast with literally thousands of lakes in between. On the West coast, the majority of islands are located in the Gulf Islands, between Vancouver Island and the Pacific Coast of British Columbia. In central Canada, the archipelagos of Ontario's Georgian Bay on Lake Huron, the Lake of the Woods and the Thousand Islands regions boast spectacular fresh water island properties. Nova Scotia's peninsular Atlantic coast is a popular market with islands available around the more remote Cape Breton island and the more affluent South Shore.

Gorgeous reflection

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:1-4, ESV)

Jesus who is the "Author and Finisher of our faith" suffered more than any person who has ever lived. His greatest suffering was on the cross where for the first time in all eternity he was separated from his Father. There He took the punishment for the sins of all who would believe, trust, and rely on him for forgiveness of sin. He was a man "acquainted with grief and sorrow." Unlike the "gods" of ancient myths, Jesus came to live with his people and completely identify with us. He experienced both the joys and pain of living in a fallen world. The very world that He himself had created.

Christianity offers hope for the future and teaches that God will ultimately make all the suffering and injustice committed against his people right. When Jesus came to the earth; he brought his kingdom with him. So, at the present time we get to experience many of the benefits of the coming Kingdom in this life.

We can enjoy the salvation (deliverance from sin) he brought with him at his first coming. And His presence and spiritual restoration is available to all who seek him now. Occasionally, we see the physical healing of the sick. But sadly not all are healed or experience complete physical restoration in this life. But when He comes the last and final time, we will experience our complete transformation. All death will be defeated and all pain will cease!  - Bobby

Faroe Island in Danish Kingdom

Faroe Islands is an island country consisting of an archipelago of small islands between the Norwegian Sea and the North Atlantic Ocean, approximately halfway between Norway and Iceland, 320 kilometres (200 miles) north-north west of Great Britain. The area is approximately 1,400 square kilometres (541 square miles) with a 2015 population of 48,700. The islands are an autonomous country within the Kingdom of Denmark.

The archipelago is very rugged and has an extremely moderated sub polar oceanic climate that is windy, wet, cloudy and cool year round. In spite of its northerly latitude, temperatures average above freezing year round.

Between 1035 and 1814, the Faroe Islands were part of the Kingdom of Norway. The 1814 Treaty of Kiel granted Denmark control over the islands, along with two other Norwegian regions: Greenland and Iceland. The Faroe Islands have been a self-governing country within the Danish Realm since 1948. The Faroese have control of most domestic matters; areas that remain the responsibility of Denmark include military defence, police, justice, currency and foreign affairs. The Faroe Islands have representation in the Nordic Council as members of the Danish delegation. The Faroe Islands also compete as an independent country in certain sports.
